Our researchers at the Complex Networks conference

December 4, 2023

At this year's Complex Networks conference in Menton, France, two of our students, Kate Barnes and Levente Murgás, presented their research in our lab.

Our young researchers presented three papers:

  • Citation Distance Matters: Towards a New Metric for Evaluating Journal Impact
  • Topicality Boosts Popularity Online: A Comparative Analysis of NYT Articles and Reddit Memes
  • Decoding Memes: A Comparative Study of Machine Learning Models for Template Identification

Our students have gained a wealth of interesting new knowledge, established numerous professional connections, and the presented research has sparked a lot of interest among the audience. As a result, they returned home inspired with many new ideas.
