Our Lab's Forthcoming Study on AI-Driven Dropout Prediction Was Presented at Stanford's Education Data Science Conference

June 5, 2026

We are pleased to report that two of our researchers, Dr. Roland Molontay and Csaba Kiss, attended the Education Data Science conference held at the Stanford University School of Education last week.

At the conference, Roland presented one of our upcoming research papers, of which our colleague József Pintér is the first author. The paper is titled "Predicting Dropout with Explainable AI Using Progressively Available Student Data." The work addresses one of the most pressing challenges in higher education: the early identification of dropout risk, using explainable AI methods that make predictions transparent and actionable for educators and institutions alike.

The conference was also co-organized by Dorottya Demszky, and our researchers had the opportunity to engage in inspiring discussions with her about potential future collaborations. We are grateful for the opportunity to present our work to the international education data science community and look forward to building new and valuable research connections.
