We are pleased to announce a new publication co-authored by HSDSLab researchers, examining the evolution of electric micromobility research.

Using bibliometric methods and co-occurrence network analysis, the authors analyzed 1,471 Scopus-indexed publications to map how research on electric micromobility vehicles has developed over time. The study reveals a clear and significant shift: a field once predominantly engineering-focused has evolved into a more interdisciplinary research area, with the social sciences, medicine, and environmental science playing an increasingly prominent role.

The paper also identifies a number of promising future research directions, including user behavior, social acceptance, regulation, social equity, and gender-related aspects of micromobility. These findings highlight that the future of sustainable mobility extends far beyond technological innovation, and that studying this rapidly growing field requires a broader, more inclusive approach.
