August 21, 2024

In the 2023/24 academic year, our colleague Csaba Kiss received the most prestigious award that can be bestowed upon students at the BME Faculty of Natural Sciences, the title of Outstanding Student of the Faculty. Csaba, who is starting his PhD studies this year under the supervision of Roland Molontay, has received this award for the second time, having also been named Outstanding Student of the Faculty in 2022.

In addition to his excellent academic achievements, Csaba won 2nd place at the 2023 Spring OTDK (National Scientific Students' Associations Conference) with his paper titled "Modeling the Age of the Oldest Living Person in the World". He also achieved 1st place at the 2023 ELTE Faculty of Science TDK (Student Research Conference) with his paper "On the Asymptotic Behaviour of Geometric q-push TASEP with Particle Creation Model" (supervised by Bálint Vető). Csaba gave a presentation titled "Modelling the Distribution of Longevity Leaders" at an international conference and, as part of a three-person team, secured 3rd place in the 2023 international NSUCRYPTO competition. During the period under review, he also worked as a demonstrator at the Department of Analysis and Operations Research, as well as the Department of Stochastics. Since 2022, he has been working as a research assistant at the Human and Social Data Science (HSDS) Laboratory of the Institute of Mathematics.

We congratulate Csaba on his achievements and well-deserved award! Our lab is delighted that Csaba will continue his doctoral studies with us starting in September!
