At this year's Complex Networks conference in Menton, France, two of our students, Kate Barnes and Levente Murgás, presented their research in our lab.
Our young researchers presented three papers:
- Citation Distance Matters: Towards a New Metric for Evaluating Journal Impact
- Topicality Boosts Popularity Online: A Comparative Analysis of NYT Articles and Reddit Memes
- Decoding Memes: A Comparative Study of Machine Learning Models for Template Identification
Our students have gained a wealth of interesting new knowledge, established numerous professional connections, and the presented research has sparked a lot of interest among the audience. As a result, they returned home inspired with many new ideas.
