Our PhD Student Joins the International Dialogue on Responsible Artificial Intelligence in Dublin

February 9, 2026

Our PhD student, Donát Köller, recently represented our lab in Dublin, where he participated in the Human-Centred AI Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP). The one-week event, organized by the Technological University Dublin, attracted students and researchers from across Europe to discuss the future of responsible and ethical artificial intelligence.

As part of the program, Donát presented his poster titled “Does better research performance improve teaching quality?”, which examines the important relationship between academic research productivity and teaching excellence.

The intensive week offered a variety of programs and learning opportunities. Highlights included poster sessions at TU Dublin, an insightful industrial visit to the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Dublin headquarters—where Emma Redmond, Head of OpenAI Ireland, gave a presentation on responsible AI, among others—and the academic sessions of the HCAI-ep 26 conference at Maynooth University. The program also provided an excellent opportunity for networking with members of the PANORAIMA / HCAIM network and its partner universities.

Participation in international programs like this is a key element of our lab's mission, as it allows us to connect data science research with real-world social impact. We would like to thank the TU Dublin School of Enterprise Computing & Digital Transformation and all contributors for the incredibly inspiring week.
