We are proud to share that our laboratory served as a co-organizer of the 2nd Biomedical Data Science Summer School and Conference hosted by the Institute of Biostatistics and Network Science at Semmelweis University this past July. The nearly two-week event brought together MSc and PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, physicians, and healthcare data science experts for an intensive program of learning, collaboration, and scientific exchange.
A highlight of the conference was the plenary lecture by Dr. David Fenyő, which demonstrated how artificial intelligence and mathematical modeling are helping researchers gain a deeper understanding of the tumor microenvironment. Additional plenary talks were delivered by Dr. Andreas Dengel, Dr. Jörg Menche, and Dr. Petra Vertes, each bringing international expertise to enrich the program.
The summer school also featured lectures by Edmond Girasek, Kosmas Kepesidis, Gergely Palla, and Luca Szegletes, while the jury evaluating student presentations consisted of Dr. Tamás Kói, Dr. István Kovács, and József Pintér.
By connecting education, interdisciplinary research, and international expertise, the event reflects a shared commitment to advancing biomedical data science and its healthcare applications. We were delighted to contribute to this inspiring initiative and look forward to continuing the collaboration in the future.
